The “Customer Care – Eco Driving Training” event is part of a comprehensive support program organized by Hino Motors Vietnam (HMV) in collaboration with the nationwide 3S dealer system, aimed at enhancing drivers’ skills while supporting customers’ business operations.
On October 17-18, HMV successfully held the Eco Driving event in Hung Yen, with the participation of over 40 drivers and team leaders from various fleets.
During the event, drivers received theoretical and practical training on safe and fuel-efficient driving techniques, covering the following main topics:
- Daily vehicle inspection guidelines
- Safe driving techniques – fuel saving
- Introduction and Q&A on genuine Hino spare parts
- Fuel-efficient driving practice on the road
- Side activities such as real-life experiences on the importance of seat belts and the dangers of driving under the influence of alcohol.
- Theoretical and practical training of tire inspection during vehicle operation.
On the day of the event, the drivers participated in driving practice twice to assess their efficiency after receiving theoretical and practical training. The results of properly applying the techniques showed a significant improvement in fuel savings.
Applying both theoretical knowledge and practical experience, Mr. Bùi Văn Định achieved the best fuel efficiency among drivers of the Hino 300 Series, with a rate of 10.577 L/100km. For the Hino 500 Series, the most efficient fuel consumption was recorded by Mr. Huỳnh Giang Sơn at 12.566 L/100km. Both outstanding drivers are from Yusen Logistics Co., Ltd. and participated in the program on October 18.
Meaningful gifts from Hino Motors Vietnam were awarded to the top 3 drivers who applied the training knowledge most effectively in practice.
The safe and fuel-efficient driving training program has demonstrated clear effectiveness in vehicle operation by participating drivers. For Hino XZU Series 300 trucks, the most significant improvement in fuel consumption was 51% (from 17.766 L/100km down to 11.778 L/100km) and 35% (from 14,942 L/100km down to 11,102 L/100km) on October 17 and 18, respectively.
For Hino Series 500 trucks, the best improvement recorded was 54% (from 21.84 L/100km down to 14.226 L/100km) and 33% (from 17.512 L/100km down to 13.172 L/100km) over the two days.
The top three drivers with the highest improvement in fuel efficiency for each vehicle type received gifts from our partner, Bridgestone Vietnam.
The results, verified directly by the customers, demonstrate the positive benefits of the Fuel-Efficient Driving Training – Customer Care Event.
Mr. Tăng Văn Thiện, an employee of Yusen Logistics and Transport Co., Ltd., with over 18 years of driving experience, shared his thoughts on Hino trucks:
