In order to drive smoothly and optimize operating costs, drivers will need to equip themselves with the skills of “Driving safely & saving fuel”, also known as “Eco- driving”. These are quite simple skills, easy to apply, but not all drivers are interested in practicing.

Correct and regular application of these skills will help businesses have the following benefits:

✔️ Increased safety when operating.

Hino is one of the pioneering truck brands to encourage the application of Eco-Driving technology through the organization of training courses “Safe driving & fuel saving” held annually.

On October 16-17, at Biotechnology Center in Ho Chi Minh City, Hino Motors Vietnam welcomed 37 drivers and representatives of companies from many provinces across the country to attend this training.

Main activities are as follows:

1. Guide drivers to driving safety techniques – Fuel economy
2. Guide the daily vehicle inspection on the vehicle.
3. Practice exams between drivers
4. Answer the questions of customers and drivers.
5. Other activities such as: experiencing the reality of the importance of wearing a seatbelt, the danger when using alcohol when taking traffic.

After applying the skills shared by Hino, fuel consumption in the standard program conditions improved significantly, with an average reduction of 13.6% for the Hino 300 Series, 12.5% for the Hino 500 Series. The results recorded directly by the customers themselves have proved the positive benefits that Customer Care Event – Safety Driving & Fuel Saving Training brings to customers.

Attending the training course on October 16, Mr. Nguyen Van Trong Nghia – Cu Chi Vinamilk Raw Milk Center shared: “In the past, I drove according to my personal habits but did not have any standards to drive safer or more economical. For example, when cornering, my own habit is cutting clutches. Through this Eco Driving program I learned that cutting the clutch is very dangerous and also consumes more fuel. After this session, I will immediately change my habits, and then propose to the company to send other drivers to the next courses.”

Mr. Luong Thanh Tan, from District 3 Public Service Company Limited, attended the training for the first time, sharing: “This training course is really useful, with many seemingly small skills. But when I heard Hino’s expert analyze it, I understood the importance of those little things”.

Not only giving very straightforward comments on the program, the drivers also enlisted “confide” with Hino about the trucks they used to drive, interesting stories in the journey.

Mr. Pham Van Dung – Pharmedic Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company: “I have been working in this company for 18 years, driving a lot of trucks but mainly driving Hino. My company uses Hino trucks all the time and is going to buy some more. I used to take the western route: Saigon – Vinh Long – Can Tho – Soc Trang – Ca Mau. Hino trucks are generally very good downhill passes, are strong, do not consume fuel and are exceptionally durable. I drive a lot and find that the cabin is extremely comfortable, fully equipped, now whoever asks me if I need any further improvements, I don’t know, I am very satisfied already.”

Coming from Van Cong Thanh Company, Mr. Ho Tien Phuc commented: “Since I started as a driver until now, I only drive Hino. My first impression of Hino is that it is beautiful. To say about Hino, I have nothing to criticize. My company just bought a dozen more Hino trucks.”

Following the success of the Eco Driving program in Ho Chi Minh City, Hino Motors Vietnam plans to launch the next training course at the end of November. Let’s look forward to it!
