The Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Group/Petrolimex/PLX) officially distributes Euro 5 standard oil in Vietnam market from early 2018.
The practice corresponds to Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung’s Decision 49/2011/QD-TTg dated September 1, 2011 (Decision 49), which provides the roadmap for the application of exhaust emission standards at level IV for tourist cars and diesel-powered buses, locally-assembled and imported as of January 1, 2018.
The trade of diesel level V instead of level IV in line with the Decision 49 is Petrolimex’s efforts to serve consumers with products of highest quality, making an active contribution to environmental protection. In addition, Euro 5 Diesel has many other advantages such as: Increased durability and efficiency of the engine due to very low sulfur content, safe for the user.
According to Petrolimex Deputy Director General Nguyen Quang Dung, as planned as many as 70 per cent of Petrolimex petrol stations across the country supplied diesel 0.001S-V (EURO5) at a retail price of VND15,210/litre in region I and VND15,510/litre in region II (mountainous and remote areas).
In addition to supplying standard Euro 5 diesel products, Petrolimex has already sold RON 95 gasoline Euro 4 standard in the beginning of 2017 and mass sold E5 RON 92 biofuel gasoline from December 15.
