Warranty Policy

1. Definition

Warranty for new vehicle:

Hino Motors Vietnam Ltd. (HMV) assures the quality of vehicles manufactured or imported and sold in Vietnam within a specified operating period (referred to as “The warranty period”).

HMV will reimburse the costs of replacement parts and labor for HINO vehicles due to parts defects or quality issues during production and assembly.

Spare Parts warranty:

Warranty for spare parts is HMV’s guarantee for the quality of Hino’s spare parts, which are sold by HMV in domestic market and installed at Authorized Hino Dealer for a specified operating period (as known as “The parts warranty period) 

HMV will reimburse the costs of replacement parts and labor for parts that have quality defects.

2. Warranty period

Warranty period for new vehicle:

Warranty period for Hino’s vehicles which are produced and assembled or are imported by HMV is 7 years with limited km for each series (whichever comes first). The warranty period begins from the date of warranty registration.

Warranty period for spare parts

The warranty period of spare parts is 6 months or 10,000km (whichever comes first) by the date of completed repair. 

3. Special warranty period

Some parts have the special warranty period is divided into: 

  • Components or parts that are not manufactured by HMV (OEM Components) will be covered separately by the original manufacturer of those components. The list of OEM Components as below: 

Tires 

  1. Tires manufactured by Yokohama Vietnam: 5 years from the date of manufacture and within 30% of tread wear (remaining tread depth ≥ 70%).
  2. Tires manufactured by Bridgestone Vietnam: 7 years from the date of manufacture.

Springs: The vehicle’s springs have a warranty period of 24 months from the date of installation on the vehicle or 100,000 km, whichever comes first. 

  • Some parts have the special warranty period follow Hino warranty policy: 

Windshield:The vehicle’s windshield has a warranty period of 30 days or 300 km of operation from the date of warranty registration, whichever comes first. 

Radio:The vehicle’s radio has a warranty period of 180 days from the date of warranty registration. 

Battery:  

  • GS Battery has a warranty period of 06 months or 50,000 km days from the date of warranty registration, whichever comes first. 
  • 700 series’s Battery has has a warranty period of 03 months or 10,000 km days from the date of warranty registration, whichever comes first. 

DPR/SCR System has a warranty period as the table below (whichever comes first):

4. Scope of application

– This warranty is valid during the warranty period and includes performing adjustments for any abnormal operating functions and repairing damages caused by defects in materials, parts, or assembly errors while the vehicle is operated under normal conditions.

FREE : Vehicles under warranty will be repaired and adjusted free of charge, including parts and labor. 

1. Damage that occurs during transportation

Damages that occur during transportation and improper storage will not be covered by this warranty.

2. Use of spare parts not supplied by HMV

– Repairs or replacements using parts not supplied by HMV will not be covered by HMV’s warranty.

– Any damages arising from the use of non-genuine Hino parts will not be eligible for this warranty.

3. Normal replacement wear parts:

– Clutch plates, brake pads, carbon brushes, windshield wiper rubbers.

– Filters (fuel, engine oil, bridge oil filter, power steering oil, air filters, etc.).

– Fuel injectors, water separators, light bulbs, fuses, relays, belts, battery acid.

– Replacement or topping up of engine oil, transmission oil, differential oil, brake fluid, power steering fluid, grease, coolant, and air conditioning gas.

4. Damage due to usual habit of owner

– Maintenance is not performed properly according to the instructions in the owner’s manual

– Incorrect usage, overloading, over speeding, accidents, theft, driving through flooded areas, fire, and explosions.

– Incorrect usage of fuel, fluids, or lubricants.

– Structural modification errors: This includes issues such as disassembly, reassembly, or structural changes.

– Damages or fires caused by unauthorized installation of electrical devices such as lights, horns, air conditioners, GPS, etc., leading to electrical system overload in the vehicle.

5. Damage due to environmental conditions

This warranty does not cover damage due to environment conditions such as but not limited to air borne dirt (chemicals, reins, etc.), road salts, storm, lighting, natural disasters, or any events beyond the control of HINO.

6. Truck bed and specialized equipment

The truck bed and specialized equipment not manufactured by Hino are not covered under this warranty. They are separately warranted by their respective manufacturers.

7. Errors not due to poor quality but user perception

Errors that are not due to poor quality but rather user perception include minor noises, slight vibrations, unusual smells, exterior appearance, and operational sensations.

8. Other expenses

The warranty does not cover costs and damages incurred when submitting the vehicle for warranty service, such as phone expenses, accommodation costs, rental vehicle costs, travel expenses, and losses related to downtime and business due to the vehicle’s inoperability.

Hino will cover towing costs when the defect is under warranty policy. 

Comply with the instructions in the Owner’s Manual to ensure safe operation and perform maintenance as required as described.

The vehicle owner is responsible for cooperating with HMV to complete the vehicle’s warranty registration as instructed in the Warranty Booklet within 15 days from the date of vehicle receipt. Failure to complete warranty registration on time may affect the vehicle owner’s warranty benefits under the terms stipulated in this Booklet.

The vehicle owner must provide accurate and complete information as required in the Warranty Registration Card and is responsible for updating the information if any changes occur during the warranty period.

Take the vehicle for regular maintenance at Authorized Dealers in accordance with the regulations in this Booklet and the Owner’s Manual.

Use genuine components or HMV certified components (SCP) distributed by the Authorized Dealer.

Present the Warranty Booklet during vehicle maintenance and warranty service.

For vehicles that regularly operate in harsh conditions or for special-purpose vehicles, the owner should adjust the maintenance schedule accordingly, sooner than the standard maintenance schedule.

If the vehicle incurs damage due to the owner’s failure to comply with the mandatory maintenance regulations in this Booklet or the Owner’s Manual, this may affect the Warranty Scope.

In case of damage, the owner must bring the vehicle to the nearest Authorized Dealer for inspection and repair.
