No place, the leading truck brand in Japan is as much as in the West. And we decided to “knock” the owners of vehicles in Ca Mau to learn the story. – With senior management position, I make sure that you have very little direct driving time. So, what advantages Hino has that you just choose that brand?
– There are three main reasons. First of all, according to my opinion, I evaluate Hino has beautiful design and high aesthetic. Moreover, before deciding to buy, I had references from many colleagues experience in the field of transport. Most of them also confirmed the persistence of Hino vehicles. But the main point is high fuel-saving advantage of Hino trucks.
– Two factors: persistent quality, fuel efficiency may sound convincing. However, the good characteristic is necessary for good transportation?
– The impact is very great because the 8 Hino trucks team is very convenient in maintenance, parts replacement periodically, and has a positive effect to Hoang Vinh transport brand in bidding, having competitive contracts for transportation from the major partners. Because the team with newness, beauty, famous brand will send to partners a message: “We have resources, real reputation.”
– More than four years with Hino brand, in addition to three factors mentioned above, you can give a different opinion that you are most satisfied in the process of using Hino trucks?
– I do not directly control, so my appreciation is only seen from the manager site. With the same GVW, Hino trucks always carry more than 600 – 700kg in comparison with other brands. The reason is Hino chassis is lighter. For example, the same 15 ton GVW, Hino can load 8.1 tons after making frozen body. Others are 7.5 tons, while Hino our vehicles can carry up to 8.1 tons. This is a clear business advantage.

– At the moment, you are deputy technical manager after more than 30 years behind the wheel, perhaps you understand each of vehicles. Can you share some preliminary assessment of durability or maintenance Hino trucks?
– In our 12 Hino trucks team, some are near or exceed 350.000km milestone but there is no trucks have the impression that any overhaul of engine and chassis, except for replacing some parts in using period as brake, clutch, tires … In addition, the current Hino trucks have become so popular on the market, so we can buy spare parts easily.
Maintenance is quite easy because technology, engineering of Hino vehicles are familiar with our drivers so long. Typically, fuel supply technology is traditional but effective, easy to fix when damage happens.
– You have said that fuel supply technology is traditional but effective, means that your drivers are not keen on the technology of fuel injection?
– We are not conservative. But, objectively to say, we see performance and oil consumption between traditional fuel supply technology and fuel injection technology are not much difference. However, traditional technology is easy to fix anywhere throughout the North – South with any drivers. According my opinion, I think that traditional technology is suitable to the harsh nature of the characteristics of good transportation, knowledge of using trucks, and the fuel quality in Vietnam nowadays.
– And how do you fell as a driver position?
– Engine has low vibration. Cabin has wide vision. Gear is very precise and sensitive. Vehicles are impulsive, have strengths as “beef” and safe to pass over the trucks in the same direction. In particular, a driver assigned to drive Hino trucks feels very proud of Hino brand. Moreover, the safety and high durability of Hino vehicles will decrease a lot of pressure for us in the long journey.

– Initial investment costs are lower and better, so why did you choose Hino instead of Korea, even China brand with lower price, and will shorten the payback?
– After 4-5 years in usual, we will change old cars, but if we choose Korea or China trucks, the resale value is only about 50% (China). While the Hino brand is very easy to sell, excluding inflation, the inflation, rate of capital recovery of Hino vehicles can sometimes be 100% original purchase price. Besides, in the first years is almost Hino trucks do not require expensive repairs and maintenance, so business performance should be much more economical.
– How did you feel about the customer service, the convenience in maintenance of Hino in Ca Mau?
– At first, our trucks are often maintained by Truong Long Dealer in Can Tho or Ho Chi Minh. But since October last year, when Dai Phat Tin Dealer officially opened in Ca Mau, the maintenance becomes more convenient.

– Most of the seafood export enterprises in Ca Mau, including your company believe to use Hino brand. Is Hino trucks owned elements are consistent with typical seafood industry?
– Frozen seafood products for export are much attention to the time factor by very high requirements on freshness. To keep credibility with customer, we must deliver on time. So, we need to choose reliable vehicles, not having any pity failures on street to have a smooth business. In this regard, the Hino vehicles have confirmed our belief.
– After only six Hino trucks that you bought over 3 years respectively. Have you ever intend to switch to other brands?
Up to now, we already have used Hino trucks for over 3 years. That time is long enough for me to understand the advantages of this brand. So, if I want to buy more vehicles, my highest priority is Hino.
