Preventive maintenance consists of inspection and maintenance tasks aimed at assessing the condition of the vehicle to plan for the replacement or repair of components that may fail in the near future, before a breakdown occurs. This includes the following activities:
- Daily inspections by the driver
- Regular, basic maintenance
- Periodic, comprehensive maintenance
- Additional processes for maintenance procedures
- Lubrication maintenance

The maintenance schedule is developed based on a detailed assessment of wear and tear after a period of operation. For Hino trucks, the maintenance schedule is established based on the distance the vehicle has traveled (measured in kilometers) and the duration of operation and vehicle care (measured in months).
