NOTES ON OPERATING EURO 5 VEHICLES

HINO SERIES 300 EURO5

To meet the Euro 5 emission standard, the Hino Series 300 is equipped with the DPR (Diesel Particulate Active Reduction System) to significantly reduce the amount of PM in the engine exhaust before it is released into the environment.

Warning & Display Features of the DPR Emission Treatment System:

  • Soot level gauge
  • Warning light
  • Manual regeneration switch
  • Engine warning light

The operation of this system is divided into the following modes:

Operational Notes:

  • Only use Euro 5 fuel with a low sulfur content of 0.001% S.
  • When the manual soot burning switch and DPR light are flashing, proceed to burn soot immediately after stopping the vehicle.
  • If an error warning light occurs, please take the vehicle to the nearest Hino dealer for inspection.

HINO SERIES 500 EURO5

The Hino Series 500 trucks utilize SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) technology—an after-treatment technology designed to reduce nitrogen oxide emissions, helping to mitigate negative impacts on the environment and human health.

To monitor and control the SCR emission treatment system, Hino vehicles are equipped with a new combined dashboard.

Operational Notes:

  • Only use Euro 5 fuel with a low sulfur content of 0.001% S.
  • Always use the correct type of urea (AdBlue) with a concentration of 32.5%.
  • Always maintain the urea (AdBlue) level at maximum before each trip. Turn on the ignition when adding urea.
  • The urea system operates in a closed loop. Do not turn off the power immediately after switching off the ignition; wait at least 10 minutes for the system to stabilize.
  • Perform maintenance on schedule.
  • When a system error occurs: Start the engine for over 1 minute, then turn it off and wait for 1 minute. Repeat this process 3 times.
